Elderly woman killed in hit-and-run by truck in Jerusalem's Rehavia, police arrest driver

OCTOBER 4, 2026 13:40A woman in her 70s was killed after allegedly being struck by a truck on Rashba Street in Jerusalem's Rehavia neighborhood on Sunday, in what police described as a suspected hit-and-run.After a manhunt lasting about two hours, police arrested a truck driver in his 20s on suspicion of fatally striking the pedestrian and fleeing the scene. Jerusalem District Police located the truck shortly after the crash through searches and investigative efforts.Jerusalem District Police officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving the report. Passersby told us that she had been hit by a truck.
