Eight Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since dawn, Al Jazeera reports, citing medical sources. Five people were killed in an Israeli attack on a residential block in Gaza City, including one in Beit Lahia, while two others succumbed to wounds sustained in previous attacks. Wafa news agency reported earlier that Muhammad Talaat Aqel succumbed to a gunshot wound to his head, which he had sustained in an attack days before. Reuters reports that four women were among the five killed in the apartment block attack. Medics and the local church reported that Maisa Abu Dawoud, and her daughter Mary, were among the victims. The attack reportedly levelled the building, causing a fire to rip through the debris. "We were asleep and suddenly heard continuous strikes and heavy explosions. The children woke up startled and started running and screaming," witness Ahmed Al-Dahdouh told Reuters. "We ran out and found that our neighbour's house was struck and there were dismembered martyrs, women, men and children. We started to pull them out. They were scattered under the rubble," he said.
