Ed Sheeran Owns the Batman & Robin Nipple Suits, Rufio’s Sword from Hook, and More Movie Props

Ed Sheeran revealed on The New York Times Popcast’ podcast that he’s a big movie memorabilia collector, and that he has some key bits of Hollywood history in his own home. The episode comes from late last year, but a new clip shared by the podcast highlights some of musician’s prized possession — including all three of the infamous “nipple suits” from 1997’s Batman & Robin. “This will show you the type of person that I am,” Sheeran told the Popcast hosts. “My favorite Batman film is the Batman & Robin film. But, because no one liked Batman & Robin, all those costumes are like, pretty cheap.” Now, “pretty cheap” might be defined differently for a global pop star than me and you; one of George Clooney’s screen-worn Batman & Robin costumes sold for $57,500 on Heritage Auctions in 2022, and Sheeran claims to also own both Chris O’Donnell’s Robin suit and Alicia Silverstone’s Batgirl suit, so you do the math. He also says he owns Rufio’s sword and Peter Pan’s outfit from Hook, even saying he “wore it for a bit… And then I was like, ‘Is this disrespectful to wear this? Should I put it in a case?’ So it’s in a case now.” As a big Robin Williams fan, he also bought the board game from the original Jumanji. Plus, he’s got Joe Pesci’s big knife from the opening scene of Goodfellas, and was even gifted Teddy the robotic teddybear from A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
