Released at the end of yesterday’s (Thursday, October 29) episode, the trailer teased major revenge plots, huge returns and a donkey in the pub. Yes, really. But, it was a tiny detail on a death certificate that got fans’ attention. Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that the date of death on the certificate Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was holding was October 29, 2026, meaning that someone is already dead. But who is the unlucky resident? The most prominent theory floating about online is that it is a certificate of Mick Carter’s death. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Viewers will recall that Mick was presumed dead after going missing at sea on Christmas Day 2022. However, earlier this week it was revealed that son Lee Carter (Danny Hatchard) had had his certificate of presumed death revoked. Now, with the reappearance of Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) in the trailer, fans think they’ve worked out what’s going on. Having been married to Mick when he went missing, Janine would have benefited financially from his death. Because of this, fans think she would have fought hard to have Mick’s death recorded. Or could she have tracked him down and finished him off? Maybe this is when Mick actually died?? As we saw Janine at a funeral with Linda in spoiler pics?— Jord (@Jordon_Westrope) October 29, 2026 As Micks wife, Janine will want her share of his estate. Maybe she comes back questioning why Lee revoked the death cert— Stirling Cat (@MckennaCat) October 29, 2026 My money is on the death certificate being faked by Janine, maybe for Micks life insurance? Either that or Max will pay Janine to fake the death certificate so that Linda will marry him. Perhaps she won't marry him until Micks body is found.— Jon Lamacraft (@jon2k1) October 29, 2026 Was she even involved? After all, it is Linda who is holding the certificate. Could she have been the one to register Mick’s death against Lee’s wishes? And is Mick actually dead? Lee refuses to believe it, and pointed out this week that some people suffer amnesia after accidents like the one that supposedly killed his dad. Could Mick have faked his own death? Does he have a plan, and could it involve reuniting with childhood sweetheart Linda ahead of her exit? It isn’t just the mystery death that the trailer teases. re registering Mick's death after Lee rescinded it I bet— Jordan Fisher (@jorfisa7x) October 29, 2026 I think this must be Mick being declared dead, followed by the memorial which I suspect he will be watching from afar…— 🎃 Matt 🎃 (@matton79) October 29, 2026 Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) is gunning for a murderous revenge, no doubt against the man who left Zoe Slater to die alone. But who has she made her pact with? Elsewhere, it looks like Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin’s (Balvinder Sopal and Heather Peace) marriage is on the rocks, which will no doubt prove devastating viewing for Sukeve fans. It’s a happier affair for Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) though, as he gets down on one knee to propose to Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine), but will she say yes?
