EastEnders ‘confirms’ who is shot as huge hint is dropped

EastEnders has just dropped a major hint to the outcome of the New Year’s Day flashforward episode and who could be set to take a bullet. If you cast your mind back to the beginning of 2026, you’ll recall the dramatic episode that gave us a glimpse into 2027 and saw Albert Square preparing for Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) wedding to a mystery bride. Of course, things weren’t that straightforward, as Max woke up next to his pregnant mistress and was later arrested for his role in a murder. And that was all before his kids, Lauren and Oscar Branning (Jacqueline Jossa and Pierre Counihan-Moullier), were taken hostage and held at gunpoint, with Max receiving a text demanding he choose who dies. A bold move, considering Max wouldn’t know how to tell the truth if it smacked him in the face. After a dramatic showdown in the Vic following the revelation that Max was seeing Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) decided to get revenge by exposing Max’s latest secret to his new lover. Viewers will know that Cindy has been blackmailing Max in exchange for her silence after she discovered that Max was the man who left Zoe Slater to die.
