EastEnders confirms deadly Cindy and Max twist that changes everything

The episode in question will air at 7:30pm. The smoking gun to destroy Max Branning (Jake Wood) has just landed in Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) lap after Oscar (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) accidentally dropped the biggest of all bombshells. Cindy has been on a mission to bring Max down after he dumped her hours saying I Do and then proceeded to treat her like dirt in the weeks that followed, kicking her out of their flat. Devastated, Cindy jetted off on their honeymoon with Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) but, upon her return to the Square, she resolved to resume Operation Destroy Max Branning after finding lipstick in his home. Viewers will know that Max has been seeing Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in secret but, with Cindy aware that there is another woman in her ex’s life, she has made it her mission to find out who it is. Cindy has what she needs to destroy Max (Picture: BBC / Jack Barnes / Kieron McCarron) Max, meanwhile, tasked Oscar with speaking to Cindy in the hopes that he can get her on tape admitting that the marriage was never consummated. If he succeeds, then Max can get the marriage annulled. Cindy, however, is refusing to play ball as she’s hoping to take the lothario for everything he’s worth in their divorce. Oscar was reluctant to help given how dreadfully Max treated Cindy but nonetheless he did as he was told, getting drunk with Cindy while recording her in the hopes of grabbing her admission. (Picture: BBC / Jack Barnes / Kieron McCarron) But as he and Cindy lamented over a bottle of wine, Oscar slipped up and, when quizzed further, he admitted that Max was the one who left Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) to die. Cindy was shaken to the core and yet there was a part of her that was undoubtedly elated, knowing that she now has the leverage needed to destroy Max once and for all. The question is: will she tell grieving mum Kat (Jessie Wallace), who is on the hunt for the person who abandoned Zoe in her hour of need? Or will she instead use it as a bargaining chip to get all the money she wants out of Max?
