Earthquake of magnitude 5 strikes Tibet days after monster flash floods

The 5-magnitude earthquake struck over a week after the monster flash floods devastated towns and valleys in Tibet and border areas of Nepal.An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck Tibet on Thursday, which came a week after the monster flash floods tore through a town bordering Nepal.According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake was at a depth of 10 km.There were no immediate reports of any damages or injuries.The August 26 mega deluge, triggered by the collapse of a glacier in Tibet near the border with Nepal, devastated towns and valleys across the mountainous region. As of Thursday, at least 1,204 people have been confirmed dead and more than 4,200 remain missing in Nepal.
