Dutch sperm doner, 43, with 199 kids across Europe lied about scale of donations before revealing number in group chat

A SPERM donor has admitted to fathering nearly 200 children across Europe and repeatedly lying to parents about the number of kids he had. The Dutch man came clean about the huge number of children he had fathered in a sensational letter sent to parents in a group chat late on Saturday night. The chat contained more than 35 parents, according to Dutch news show Nieuwsuur, who obtained the letter. At least one mum had not received the shocking statement and didn’t know the new total of children, the programme reported. Sperm donor Simon admitted that he had not told the truth about how many children he had fathered. As he revealed the huge new number of kids, he wrote: “As a result, parents were given an incomplete or distorted picture. “I believed I was doing the right thing and helping people. Most read in The Sun “The appreciation and seeing their intense happiness were my only motivation “I now know that I have seriously let you down.” He added: “I should have added up the donations much earlier, including for myself. “The total turns out to be higher than I myself had thought, hoped or wanted.” Furious mothers had already accused the donor of lying about his number of offspring and wanted him to stop donating sperm. Mums also alleged he had sent sexually suggestive messages to them. Fake names used by Simon included Jesse, Johan, Daan, Sam and Maarten. The Dutch health ministry reportedly knew about the scale of Simon’s sperm donations as early as 2017, but did not take any action against him. Two years later, the prolific donor was put on a committee overseeing Dutch donor laws. Belgian authorities have launched an investigation into Simon’s donations. He says he has stopped all donations and wants to seek help to deal with the situation “in a responsible and proper way, in the interests of the children”. It comes after Dutch sperm donor Jonathan Meijer donated sperm to eleven different sperm banks in the Netherlands as well as around the world, fathering several hundred children.
