With extensive experience playing video games, he covers all forms of gaming content at Screen Rant, from breaking news to the latest fan theories. Most-played games range from Clair Obscur to Civ to Elden Ring to Halo 2 and beyond. Princess Donut has become every bit as essential to Dungeon Crawler Carl as the main man himself. The pampered Persian cat begins the series as an unlikely survivor of the apocalypse, but the dungeon quickly transforms her into one of its most formidable, unpredictable, and endlessly entertaining contestants. Donut's razor-sharp insults, royal attitude, obsession with appearances, and tendency to turn even the most dangerous situations into personal drama have made her a constant source of comedy, while her loyalty to Carl and growing emotional depth give the character considerably more weight than her larger-than-life personality initially suggests. Her relationship with Carl remains one of the series' defining dynamics, with the pair evolving from owner and pet into genuine partners trying to survive an increasingly brutal game. Now, Princess Donut is officially getting the spotlight all to herself, with Dungeon Crawler Carl: Princess Donut set to arrive in November 2026, giving the fan-favorite character a brand-new release bearing her name. Princess Donut Takes The Spotlight In New November Release Princess Donut is getting her own official Dungeon Crawler Carl release this November with the Princess Donut Dice Set, a themed accessory designed for Renegade Game Studios' upcoming tabletop RPG. The set is currently available for preorder and is scheduled to release in November 2026, alongside the RPG itself. Naturally, Donut's regal tastes are reflected in the design. The set includes seven semitransparent resin polyhedral dice consisting of a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and two d20s, along with a poker-chip-style d2. Renegade describes the dice as deep purple, fitting Donut's typically extravagant personality, and the set carries an MSRP of $25 in the United States, while Thirsty Meeples currently lists it for £22 in the UK. The dice arrive as part of a much larger expansion of Dungeon Crawler Carl into tabletop gaming. Renegade's official RPG lets players enter the World Dungeon as either original Crawlers or established characters such as Carl, Donut, and Katia. Its 300-plus-page Core Rulebook covers Floors 3 through 5 and includes character creation, classes, races, skills, spells, loot, monsters, and more than 24 sessions of material. The RPG was also a massive crowdfunding success, raising more than $13 million through BackerKit. Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG Is The Start Of A New Era The arrival of the Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG feels like the dawn of a new era for the franchise. Until now, fans have primarily experienced Matt Dinniman's World Dungeon by following Carl and Donut through the novels and enormously popular audiobooks. The RPG changes that dynamic completely, allowing players to become Crawlers themselves, create their own characters, choose from more than 30 races and a huge assortment of classes, and attempt to survive the dungeon on their own terms. It isn't arriving alone, either. Renegade Game Studios is launching Dungeon Crawler Carl: Unstoppable alongside the RPG, offering a separate solo or two-player cooperative deck-building experience. Players fight through Floors 1–3, craft and upgrade cards, battle increasingly dangerous bosses, and can tackle either individual floors in Arcade mode or progress through them in Campaign mode. Together, the two games represent a substantial expansion of the IP into tabletop gaming, one fans clearly wanted: their joint crowdfunding campaign raised more than $13.29 million from 55,972 backers. The timing couldn't be better, either, as Dinniman is currently working toward the concluding stretch of Carl's story, with the installment carrying the working title The Beautiful Place and planned for release across two books. With no publication date confirmed yet, the RPG and Unstoppable should give fans considerably more Dungeon Crawler Carl to explore while waiting to discover how Carl and Donut's increasingly chaotic journey ultimately ends.
