'Drunk' driver crashes into society gate in posh Delhi area, injures dog; 3 held

A community dog named Chhoti was hit by the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, including a fracture near her eye.Bolero rams into posh Delhi societyA speeding Mahindra Bolero carrying three men, who residents alleged were under the influence of alcohol, went on a rampage inside a residential society in Delhi’s CR Park on Wednesday night, ramming the gate, several parked cars and a community dog.The incident took place around 9.30 pm at Alkananda's Gangotri Enclave. According to a complaint filed by residents, the black Bolero first crashed into the society gate and then hit several parked vehicles.A community dog named Chhoti was also hit by the vehicle and suffered serious injuries, including a fracture near her eye. She is currently undergoing treatment, residents said.Residents alleged that the three men in the vehicle appeared to be drunk. When a security guard tried to stop them, they abused and assaulted him and other residents and threatened to kill them. The men also tried to flee the scene after the incident. In the process, the Bolero rammed into the closed gate again.Residents called the police helpline 112, following which the three men were handed over to the police. They also sought a medical examination and a blood test of the driver, along with the preservation of CCTV footage. Police have taken all the accused into custody, and an investigation is underway.
