Dramatic moment crooks smash through Danielle Lloyd’s door in terrifying burglary… as she reveals gang ‘stalked’ them

POSING in her Halloween costume before heading to a party, Danielle Lloyd had no idea she was part of a real life horror movie – and a gang of masked crooks were lying in wait outside her glass kitchen doors, secretly watching her every move. Within minutes of her leaving, the gang pounced and her life changed forever. Now, for the first time, she’s shared the horrifying footage of the moment her Birmingham mansion was raided and ransacked, leaving her terrified in her own home and her children struggling to sleep. Danielle Lloyd has opened up about her home being raided after seeing Amy Childs’ go through something similar Credit: News Group Newspapers ltd Opening up about her ordeal in light of Towie star Amy Childs being targeted, Danielle recalled her horror and anger after her Birmingham mansion was broken into in October 2023, with crooks making off with a £100,000 Richard Mille watch and £20,000 gold Cartier bracelet, amongst other high value items. “It was just a horrible, horrible experience that honestly made me feel so sick,” she said. “I wasn’t a materialistic person anyway but for me that day totally changed my life because all I could think about was the fact that my kids couldn’t sleep, the fact that they were having nightmares and I just wanted them to feel safe again. “I don’t care about jewellery, I don’t care about watches, I don’t care about fancy things like. I would rather not have them in my life.” Danielle, who moved out of the home shortly afterwards, believes the men – who were never caught – knew exactly what they were looking for and she had led them right to it. She said: “I think it happened because of one or two things – either Instagram, as we do we put stuff on there and it’s for the world to see, or that my house was on Rightmove with a floorplan. That is a mistake that I made that I would never ever make again.” She says all the valuables that were taken were things she had worn on social media at some point. The burglary took place on Halloween 2023. Danielle and her husband, electrician Michael O’Neill, 39, plus her five kids decided to go to a party. Little did they know they were being watched the whole time and as soon as they left in a cab, the masked men attacked. She told us: “I now know that they were in my back garden at that time kneeling down watching everything that we were doing. It’s terrifying. “It really makes me feel a bit sick watching it because it’s so intrusive and just knowing that someone’s physically watching and stalking you like prey was just horrendous.” Danielle believes showing off expensive jewellery on social media led to her being burgled Credit: Instagram Danielle and her husband had left the house for just five minutes before it was broken into on Halloween 2023 Credit: Instagram Within five minutes of arriving at the party the couple were notified of the raid as alarms at the eight-bed mansion sent alerts to their mobile phones. They stood frozen, watching in horror, as the gang proceeded to smash down their door and make their way through the house. “They went straight to my bedroom and they knew where they were going. They knew what they were looking for and that was what was making me so scared because it’s like they knew where stuff was,” Danielle said. “They knew exactly how much time they had to get in that house to do what they were doing because obviously our alarm went straight to the police. So they knew that they had a certain amount of time to get in, get what they wanted and get off.” She has since moved to a new home but is careful about what she shares online Credit: INSTAGRAM/DANIELLE LLOYD Amy often shows off her £1.7m home online Credit: Instagram It’s believed the criminals were in and out of the property in just 90 seconds, but the damage was done. Returning to the house was “horrendous” and Danielle said: “The kids couldn’t even sleep in the house for days. No one felt safe. “I just remember sitting with the police and one minute I’d be crying the next minute I’d be screaming with anger ‘you best f**king get them’ and then I’d be crying again saying ‘who would do this?'” In March of this year police made the decision to shelve the investigation after failing to find a single suspect – despite telling the star they thought it was carried out by the same gang that broke into the home of England footballer Jack Grealish two months later. Danielle bought another property shortly after the burglary as they built their dream home, which they finally moved into in September 2025. Since it happened, Danielle refuses to share too much online, but every few months she’s reminded of the hell she went through when another celebrity’s home is targeted. Last week Amy Childs was left heartbroken when her £1.7m home was ransacked while she was away on holiday and the memories came back for Danielle. She says she would now never post while she was actually away and she refuses to reveal too much of her house online for fans. A house door is a no no, despite fans begging to see their new home. Absolutely not. My whole outlook on things like that have changed because I just think you are letting someone know exactly what route to take throughout your house. “It’s really sad because social media is meant to be fun, sharing excitement and memories but the fact is you can’t do it when you’re physically there. “Amy was probably targeted because everyone knew she was on holiday. That’s when it usually happens. “It can happen to anyone as well. It’s not just people in the public eye – anyone out there who’s sharing their life, what they’ve got, watches anything like that. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re a celebrity or not. These days people are getting watches ripped off their arm in the streets and it’s just horrible. I don’t know what the world’s come to. “When I was a kid you could roll around and be in the park till 10 o’clock at night and your mum and dad wouldn’t be worried about you. It feels like times have changed so much.” Since moving to her new home, Danielle hires personal security with other people in her community to keep watch over her property. Other celebrities haven’t been so lucky. Former Towie star Megan McKenna broke down in tears as she opened up about her own ordeal this week, which saw her violently attacked in her own home by three machete-wielding thugs who tore her jewellery off her hand. The star, who shares son Landon, one, with footballer husband Oliver Burke, confessed the attack on her home, in 2024, has left her “nervous” when it comes to going to bed at night and she is in “trauma therapy”. Hearing her experience left Danielle deeply distressed and made her reevaluate what happened to her. “You can see in our break in video that they had hammers and other potential weapons. “What were they willing to do to get what they wanted? Would they have tried to come in when we were there?” In January of this year Maya Jama and her then boyfriend – footballer Ruben Dias were left heartbroken after an “away day” gang ransacked their home. Their £4million Omaze prize-draw mansion in Cheshire was targeted by raiders who took jewellery, electronics and clothes. Other victims include Ruben’s former Manchester City teammates Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez. Kim Kardashian was famously robbed at gunpoint after showing off her diamonds online and like Danielle, she made the decision to stop sharing so much of her wealth online. Danielle added: “What happened to me was horrendous and put everything in perspective for me. “I’m not telling everyone else that they can’t have nice things because it’s not realistic. But just be careful about what you post because it’s not safe.”
