Dragon's Dogma 2 Gets Official Resident Evil Leon Kennedy Pawn

"Toy Leon, reporting in," reads an official post from the Resident Evil socials. "Looks like I'm headed to a world with swords, spells, arrows... and no guns. I better blend in while I'm here, and talk like the locals do. Call me 'Leonidas Scottson Kensington the Third.' Or, something like that. Tag along with me on this mission. I could use some backup." If you're not brushed up on the game, pawns are basically in-game companions who you can recruit, meaning that you can now fight your way through Vermund with Condor One. Meet Leonidas Scottson Kensington The Third This new crossover even comes with a brief teaser in which Nick Apostolides banters as Leon with Ryu and Rudy about their new pawns. "Huh, is that me?" Leon asks. "Where hast thou absconded to?" It's an especially odd mix of Capcom properties, given that Leon is usually busy fighting bioweapons, Ryu spends his time challenging the world's strongest fighters, and Rudy... Rudy is a Palico. Seeing them all squeezed into the same fantasy setting is a bizarre little celebration of Capcom's wider catalog, even if Leon might struggle without his hatchet. These official Capcom Pawns can be hired for free if they're level 10 or below, and their names appear in a different color to distinguish them from regular companions. As official Pawns, their equipment can't be changed, and they don't appear in rankings, but who really cares when the rookie cop has your back? So, yeah, it's a bit cursed, but it's a fun way to celebrate the launch of Dark Arisen, the brand-new Dragon's Dogma 2 expansion. But if you want to dabble in the DLC, you'll have to fork up $29.99 first.
