An official recap of the recent State of Play from PlayStation may have accidentally revealed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is launching in early 2027. This week’s State of Play may have started off a little slow, but it ended up being quite a strong showing with some backloaded reveals, including the GTA 6 DualSenses, Until Dawn 2’s new trailer, some strong PlayStation classic additions, and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s release date. Things only got better at the start of the Japan State of Play, though. Out of nowhere, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 kicked off the second show with a stacked new trailer that revealed a ton of new footage, characters, customisation options, and more. As with every other Xenoverse 3 trailer so far, the new showing ended by promising a vague 2027 release date, but we might already know some more specific timing. PlayStation Claims Xenoverse 3 Is Launching Early Next Year We Might Be Heading To West City Earlier Than We Assumed As pointed out by Twitter user DbsHype, the official PlayStation Instagram account recently shared a reel that highlights the biggest announcements made at the Japan State of Play. That reel interestingly claims that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is going to be launching in “early 2027”, rather than just the overall year like Bandai has claimed. What makes this even more interesting is that the PlayStation Blog post that’s linked within the reel simply says 2027 like the actual trailer does. It’s not clear what’s happened here, but it looks like someone at PlayStation has revealed a little more than they were supposed to about the game’s release timing. To be fair, Xenoverse 3 has been in the works for a very long time now, so it’s not too far-fetched to think it might be closer to release than it first seemed. Of course, it’s worth taking this with a grain of salt for now, as whoever at PlayStation put the reel together might have got it wrong or just assumed based on how much was shown in the trailer. For now, though, it’s the closest thing we have to a release date for Xenoverse 3, and one that’s much closer than many of us assumed.
