Don't they feel ashamed?: Rani Swarnkar on sindoor jibe after Lalbaugcha visit

Actor Govinda’s co-star Rani Swarnkar has hit back at the criticism surrounding her recent visit to Lalbaugcha Raja. Her response came days after actor Divya Khossla questioned her for wearing sindoor while accompanying the actor to the pandal. Without naming Divya, Rani shared lengthy notes on social media in which she slammed those commenting on her personal life and took indirect digs at Ssunita Ahuja.In a series of notes on her Instagram stories, Rani defended her visit to Lalbaugcha Raja, saying she had gone with Govinda to seek blessings for their upcoming film, Roopa. Taking an apparent swipe at her critics, she questioned why her appearance with her co-star had become a subject of controversy.“Since when did going before Ganpati Bappa alongside my Hero and praying for the success of my upcoming film, Roopa, become a matter of shame, a national issue or ‘Dikhawa’ for others?” she wrote. Rani also questioned celebrities who, according to her, appear in public with their male co-stars to promote films but criticised her for doing the same.She further hit out at those commenting on her alleged relationship with Govinda, accusing them of using the controversy to remain in the spotlight. “Some actresses in the film industry, whose careers have gone cold, whose films are no longer working at the box office, seem to have nothing left except their washed-out brand tags. They are trying to stay relevant by sticking their noses into other people's ongoing controversies and trying desperately to keep themselves in the limelight,” she wrote. Addressing the criticism over her sindoor, she appeared to take a direct swipe at her detractors without naming them. She wrote, “I have no interest in taking lessons on sindoor, marriage, or our Indian culture and traditions from women who themselves mock sindoor, whose own marriages are falling apart, and who cannot even uphold the sanctity of their own marital relationships.”Rani also made indirect references to alcoholism and infidelity while criticising those who, according to her, had commented on her personal life. “I do not consider such women worthy of judging me—especially those who idolise and support people who have spent their lives drinking all night, indulging in multiple affairs with other men, and even fantasising about one-night stands with three men in their old age, while publicly humiliating for their own fame to the very husbands they lived with and benefited from throughout their lives,” she wrote. “I honestly don't give a damn whether these people think that I am a good person or a bad one,” she added.Towards the end of her note, she accused her critics of using her name to stay relevant and suggested that they were projecting frustrations from their own marriages onto her. She described them as “man-eaters—women who destroy their husbands' dignity and reputation” and asked them to stop associating themselves with her name.Govinda and Rani visited Lalbaugcha Raja on the same day Ssunita Ahuja visited the pandal alone, sparking fresh speculation around Govinda's alleged relationship with Rani. However, the Partner actor has repeatedly denied the allegations, maintaining that his appearances with Rani are linked to their professional association and their Roopa.Meanwhile, Divya Khossla has publicly commented on Govinda and Ssunita's marriage. She recently questioned Rani over wearing sindoor while visiting Lalbaugcha Raja with Govinda and also accused her of using religion for her own agenda.- Ends
