Dolly Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver was reportedly arrested for assault over 25 years before he allegedly threatened the singer’s manager, Danny Nozell. Seaver was taken into custody by police after an incident at a Nashville bar called Banana Joe’s on Oct. 6, 2000, according to a police report obtained by the Sun on Thursday. The alleged victim reportedly told police that Seaver tried to “take a swing at him,” after Seaver was told he was at risk of being thrown out of the bar. The case was dismissed later that year, according to the Sun. Page Six has reached out to Seaver’s rep for comment. Seaver — the son of Parton’s sister Cassie — was fired from his longtime role as Parton’s head of security after the country music icon’s death in August. Nozell subsequently filed a restraining order against Seaver, claiming Seaver has been trying to extort him for money and threatening him. Additionally, Parton’s management company, She’s Alive, LLC, filed a lawsuit claiming Seaver has sent threatening texts to employees. In a statement to TMZ, Seaver claimed the messages were taken out of context. “Nothing in this lawsuit were threats and most of the comments I stand by,” he shared. “I was talking frankly in a private way with Danny who I thought was my friend and he fancies himself a gangster.” Seaver also said he was “dismayed” by his firing, claiming there’s been “unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” taken since Parton’s passing.
