Doctor 'who carried out STD tests on Mohamed Al Fayed's Harrods staff before he assaulted them' is put under restrictions by medical regulator

See more Daily Mail on Google - save us as a Preferred Source Published: 13:22 EDT, 18 September 2026 | Updated: 13:25 EDT, 18 September 2026 A Harley Street doctor accused of carrying out invasive sexual health tests on Mohamed Al Fayed's alleged victims has been placed under restrictions.Dr Ann Coxon was given a list of conditions by the medics’ regulator the General Medical Council.Victims of the late Harrods owner had complained they were sent to Dr Coxon who conducted STD tests on them and sent the results to him before he preyed on them.She remains under full investigation by the GMC, along with another medic, Dr William Robarts. Both have been given interim conditions pending the full inquiry.The GMC said today: ‘Dr Ann Coxon and Dr William Robarts have interim restrictions on their practice, pending the conclusion of a full GMC investigation.‘An Interim Orders Tribunal of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service imposed the interim conditions on their practice on Thursday, 17 September.‘We do not provide details about ongoing investigations.’Al Fayed was said to have been so paranoid about catching STDs that he sent staff to be tested before he assaulted them. Another, Wendy Snell, the Harrods in-house doctor, died four years ago at 64.Dr Ann Coxon, 86, is no longer registered to practice but she still listed at her Harley Street clinic and answered the phone to the Daily Mail today. All she said was: ‘I’m aware. But I have no comment.’She has previously denied carrying out medical examinations on young women on the behest of her Harrods boss and refused to apologise to his alleged victims.The Justice for Harrods Survivors group reported the doctor to the General Medical Council.One of Al Fayed's alleged victims, an ex-Harrods worker known only as Natacha, said she was sent to Dr Coxon and believes her examinations were 'wholly unnecessary'.She said she was sent to the doctor for 'Aids and sexually-transmitted disease testing without consent', adding that she felt she was being checked for her purity. She claimed she was later repeatedly abused by Al Fayed.More than 200 people have come forward since he was accused of being a sexual predator in a BBC documentary in 2024. The Egyptian tycoon, who died at 94 in 2023, is said to have been paranoid about sexually-transmitted diseases. The Harrods department store in Knightsbridge in London where former owner Fayed is said to have carried out many of the alleged assaultsNatacha previously told the Mail that the Justice For Harrods Survivors group of 37 alleged victims had submitted a complaint against Dr Coxon to the regulator.Now the GMC’s interim conditions include that she has been given a week to tell the GMC about any medical work she is doing and who she is working for.She must get approval from the GMC before starting work in a non-NHS post or setting, and she must allow the GMC to exchange information with any employer or contracting body for which she provides medical services.Dr Coxon is currently registered, but without a licence to practice. She must inform the GMC’s investigating officer if she make an application to practice.A set of similar conditions applies to Cambridge University-educated Dr Robarts. The Mail tried to contact him at his last known address but there was no response.
