District Vision Is Running To Knitwear

Double Tap to ZoomStyleDistrict Vision Is Running To Knitwearless than a minute ago in StyleDistrict Vision makes running gear for people who like to run. The Los Angeles label has built its reputation on technical eyewear, thoughtful performance apparel, and the design ethos built around Stava as a lifestyle, not a choice. But there’s another side to District Vision that deserves just as much attention; the brand’s ability to make, like, really good sportswear even for people who aren’t necessarily going on a multi-mile run.The brand’s latest arrivals make that point particularly well, particularly the sweaters. Amid the technical jackets and track pants, a small but compelling brushed fleece offering rather perfectly hybridizes post-run recovery with the clothing you’d wear to a nice lunch. It’s post-athleisure athleisure, if you will. The merino wool quarter-zip sweater is a clean, easygoing staple; the midnight-tweed Kilcarra wool cardigan brings a little more texture to the equation, courtesy of its Donegal yarn. The magic is in how both of these pieces could look just as good with trousers and loafers as they would trackies and trainers, or, in my case, drop-crotch pants and high-top sneakers. That's the appeal of District Vision’s broader method for designing. Even when the brand is making clothes explicitly intended for exercise, there's a grown-upness to its sportswear approach that (I’d say) is on par with an HS fave like Literary Sport. It’s equal parts performance and details, which is something all hypebeasts and athletes have in common. And it feels like this is a direction the brand has been heading all along? Segmenting out functionality-based customers who value sport as well as a well-made good cardigan and quarter zip is the right way to go, and charts a clear path to icon status.District Vision might get you out the door for a run, but its sweaters make a pretty strong argument for staying out a little longer afterward. We RecommendHave You Ever Meditated in a Clothing Store?Fashion's Favorite Running Glasses Are Even Better as NASA-Level Eye “Shields” Arctic-Grade Running Gear for LA's Coolest Runners (EXCLUSIVE)The Yin & Yang of AthleisureHow Harry Styles Quietly, Stylishly Infiltrated a Japanese Marathon (EXCLUSIVE)What To Read NextArtist Uniform: Steve McQueen Was a Bottega Guy Before Bottega Knew ItNike’s Giraffe Superfly LX Isn’t as Docile as It LooksModel’s Own: Emily Segal’s First Style Icons Were New York’s Best-Dressed WomenFrom Vans to New Balance, the Seven Best Sneakers to Cop This WeekFall Fashion Is Starting to Look Rather Scott-ishNike’s Air Max Loafer Is Bigger than the Snoafer Phenomenon
