Did it in Bengal, Telangana next: Revanth Reddy claims BJP plot to win via SIR

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday accused the BJP of plotting to win Telangana, using the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), claiming that the party did the same in West Bengal, Bihar and Maharashtra. He also accused the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of backing the BJP in the alleged move.Addressing Congress workers and local leaders at his residence in Kodangal, Reddy claimed that non-BJP-ruled states were being targeted and alleged that the BJP was seeking to delete votes favouring the Congress ahead of the 2028 Assembly polls.Reddy's allegations came after Telangana’s draft electoral roll was published on August 17. The draft left out 73.39 lakh names under the Absent, Shifted, Dead or Duplicate (ASDD) category, while another 92.88 lakh electors were flagged for discrepancies. Claims and objections can be filed until September 16, with the final electoral roll scheduled to be published on October 19.“The central government is conspiring to delete voters’ names in the name of SIR,” Reddy said, alleging that Congress supporters, particularly SC, ST and minority voters, were being targeted. The Chief Minister claimed that the BJP had used a similar strategy in Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal and was now seeking to replicate it in Telangana.“If the BJP tries to resort to such a backdoor strategy in Telangana, there are people here who will not remain silent. Congress workers will not tolerate any attempt to delete votes and undermine the electoral process,” he said. Reddy alleged that the BJP was trying to win elections “by any means” by removing votes favouring the Congress. He also claimed that minor errors were being used as a pretext to delete the votes of poor people.ED, CBI DELETING VOTERS' NAMES, SAYS REDDYReddy alleged that central investigative agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had earlier been used in attempts to defeat political opponents during elections.“Earlier, the ED and CBI were used in attempts to defeat political opponents. Now, they are resorting to the tactic of deleting voters’ names,” he claimed, describing it as a calculated attempt to undermine people’s rights without their knowledge.He further alleged that the BRS was supporting the BJP in the alleged conspiracy to defeat the Congress. “The BRS is also supporting the BJP in this conspiracy to defeat the Congress,” Reddy said.Reddy urged Congress workers to remain vigilant and coordinate with Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to ensure that eligible voters are not removed from the electoral rolls.“It is your responsibility to protect your right to vote.
