Her rise comes at a significant time, with India occupying two positions in the top 10 of the bowling rankings through Deepti and teammate Sree Charani.Charani has retained the No.1 position with 779 rating points, while Deepti is within 60 points of her India teammate. She now has 176 wickets from 152 matches, underlining her longevity and consistency in the shortest format.The spinner has been particularly influential in the Asia Cup. In India’s opening match against Thailand, she produced remarkable figures of 3/0, becoming the first Indian bowler to take three or more wickets without conceding a run in a Women’s T20I. She followed that with another three-wicket haul against Hong Kong, China, conceding only nine runs.MANDHANA STRENGTHENS HER POSITION IN TOP 5 Smriti Mandhana has also strengthened her position among the leading T20I batters following her impressive Asia Cup campaign.
