ROMANTIC David and Victoria Beckham returned to the hotel where they sealed their love on a first holiday in 1997. The couple went back this weekend to the retreat where they holidayed in secret 29 years ago before making their relationship public. David, 51, also shared a video of his wife walking into the £2,000-a-night hotel and wrote: “29 years ago we came to Portofino to this hotel before anyone knew we were dating and here we are back again.” In a Netflix documentary, Victoria revealed a never-before-seen picture from the 1997 trip, saying it was the first time they had met away from a car park where they secretly dated. We’d already fallen in love before then, but it was definitely the first time that we’d been somewhere so romantic and so private.” They got engaged the next year. On their current trip, the pair stopped for a drink before returning to their yacht moored at Portofino. They are holidaying with son Cruz, 21, and daughter, Harper, 15.
