India on Sunday (IST) strongly condemned increasing attacks on Saudi territory, hours after a fresh strike on Riyadh's international airport claimed the lives of 12 people and left more than 300 others injured.A Saudi-led military coalition has blamed Iran-backed Houthi militants for the latest strike. The militia movement, based in Saudi Arabia's neighbouring Yemen, however, has not claimed responsibility for the attack.New Delhi said the repeated attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia are "completely unacceptable and must cease immediately.""We strongly condemn the repeated attacks on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport over the past few days, including the dastardly attack on October 10, which have led to loss of lives, injuries and damage to property," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement. New Delhi also conveyed its condolences to grieving families and wished for the speedy recovery of those who were injured."We stand in solidarity with the people and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defence of their sovereignty, and hope that peace and normalcy returns to the region at the earliest," the MEA added. The Saturday (local time) strike was the third attack on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport this week. After the deadly attack, hospitals were flooded with wounded transported by ambulance and helicopter, some in critical condition.The two previous attacks on Riyadh airport this week killed four and caused heavy damage to a Saudi commercial plane parked on the tarmac.The strikes have exposed vulnerabilities in Saudi Arabia's defence capabilities as it wages an air campaign against the Houthis to support a ground war by Riyadh-backed Yemeni ground forces against the Iranian proxy group.The latest attack on Riyadh airport was the deadliest strike in any Gulf Arab country since the start of the Iran war.- Ends(With additional inputs from agencies)
