Dad who told son’s teacher he would ‘cut her head off’ after child was moved class over his behaviour is jailed

A DAD who threatened to behead his son’s teacher has been jailed. Abdelkader B, 47, told a female teacher that he would “cut her head off” if she was a man in an explosive row at his child’s primary school in France. The crazed extremist cut the head off the history and geography teacher after Paty showed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed in a class on freedom of speech. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! Now, the tiny village of Le Feuga has been left reeling after a man exploded at his son’s teacher. His case was immediately fast-tracked into the French courts, where the man admitted that he “lost it” because of the teacher’s tone. Abdelkader had just been told that his nine-year-old son continually misbehaved, even after being moved to another class. His teacher had reportedly told the child to “stop acting like a little bully”. This was apparently the final straw for the unhinged parent – who stormed into the school car park on September 4. Abdelkader asked why the teacher had called his son a “little bully” before threatening decapitation and raging at further staff inside the school. In court, another teacher testified that he said: “Don’t be surprised if tomorrow [my son] comes with a knife and stabs you.” His words have been slammed as “extremely worrying” and of “great violence” by the judge presiding over his trial in Toulouse. Judge Fabrice Rives said these latest threats inevitably recalled the beheading of teacher Samuel Paty which “has remained in the minds of all French people”. Abdelkader has now been jailed for six months in a move his lawyers called “very rare”. They urged the the court to judge the man as a father and not “in consideration of his Muslim religion”. The dad told the court: “I am not someone who is violent by nature. I don’t know what happened to me that day.” But prosecution lawyers said that the teacher, 58, had been left “traumatised” by the row. The woman, who had worked at the school for 14 years, was considering quitting her job following the threats to her life, her lawyers claimed. Two of Abdelkader’s children are being moved to another school to protect staff from the dad’s violent outbursts. The father is also barred from contacting teachers or going near a school for three years. Education minister Édouard Geffray said: “No teacher should be afraid to do their job. To attack one of them is to attack the institution as a whole.” France has been rocked by horrifying teacher murders in recent years. In February 2023, a teenage pupil knifed Spanish teacher Agnès Lassalle to death inside her classroom. In October that same year, French teacher Dominique Bernard was stabbed to death by an ex-pupil shouting “Allahu Akbar”. Comment now
