In Shakespeare’s classic tragic tale, a brutalized community recounts the story of young lovers from dueling families whose perilous love united them all. This production is a tad more self-aware. It begins after the death of Romeo and Juliet set in the Capulet tomb. Mercutio and Tybalt are also ghosts, tasked with rewinding the events of the play and warning our protagonists about the dangers that eventually befall them. Romeo and Juliet then “work through their timelines again drifting in and out of awareness of their fate, deciding whether or not their love is worth dying for,” or if they wish to change their outcomes.MORE BY CLEVELAND.COM EXPRESS DESK“It’s a very heady concept that is so challenging to sum up in so few words as a logline,” said Gregory Przybylak, theater coordinator at Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Theater.
