Cowboys waive QB Joe Milton

The Cowboys kept three quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster, but they dropped to two on Monday, They have waived Joe Milton, which leaves Sam Howell as the only backup to Dak Prescott. Milton could return to the practice squad if he clears waivers.Milton was 29-of-43 for 378 yards and three touchdowns during the preseason and his play earned good reviews from head coach Brian Schottenheimer, so another team might take the chance to add Milton to their roster with the hope of continuing his development. Running back Emari Demercado was claimed off of waivers from the Chiefs, which necessitated another roster move to make space for him in Dallas.
