Coronation Street’s Georgia May Foote confirms romance with music star

Hard launch! (Picture: Instagram/georgiamay112) After a lot of hinting, former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote, who played Katy Armstrong in the ITV soap, has officially hard launched her new relationship. She’s been hinting at the new man in her life for a while with a slew of Instagram posts in which his face has always been obscured, though now she’s fully revealed her relationship with music producer, Taras Slusarenko. Georgia uploaded a carousel of images from a date night between the two, showing off her fierce date ‘fit, before revealing her beau with him planting a big smooch on her cheek. ‘A load of good food and a load of love’ she captioned the post. The comment section was flooded with love, with Jake Quickenden posting: ‘2 of the best people’, to which Georgia replied with a love heart. Taras is Georgia’s first public boyfriend following her split with ex-husband, Kris Evans. A source told the Sun earlier this year that: ‘Georgia met Taras earlier this year at a running club and they’ve been smitten ever since. ‘He has brought the smile back on her face and they’re in a bubble together.’ Taras, who goes by LiTek, has worked with music industry heavyweights such as Ed Sheeran, Ardee, Aitch and Central Cee, contributing to a number of UK chart smashes. Katy arrived in Weatherfield to join her dad Owen (Ian Puleston-Davis) and big sister Izzy (Cherylee Houston) before striking up a relationship with Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), with the two quickly falling in love. Owen was instantly opposed to their fledgling relationship, feeling Chesney was a bad influence, but despite the opposition, they continued to flourish, with Katy later falling pregnant and giving birth to her son Joseph in December 2011. The shine soon wore off the domestic life for Katy, though, and upon taking a job at the kebab shop, developed a huge crush on co-worker Ryan Connor (then-Sol Heras), with the two entering into an affair. When Chesney discovered her betrayal, they broke up, and though Katy moved in with Ryan, he soon grew bored of his new role as step-parent and began to stray. Georgia left Chesney for Ryan (Picture: Joseph Scanlon/ITV) After Chesney rebuffed her attempts to reconcile, Katy became entangled with local drug dealer and all-around scumbag Callum Logan (Sean Ward), creating massive friction between her and Chesney who was vehemently opposed to their fling. Katy’s world was rocked by the arrival of her mum, Linda Hancock (Jacqueline Leonard), and the discovery that her dad had lied to her for years, insisting that Linda wasn’t interested in a relationship with her daughters while actively blocking her attempts to reconnect with them. Forgiving her mum and deciding she needs a fresh start, Katy left Weatherfield with Joseph to move to Portugal alongside her mum in March 2015, though she was killed off-screen in a car accident in October 2017, with Joseph heading to Portugal and returning with his son.
