It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube. Jodie Ramsey’s (Olivia Frances-Brown) plan to take over Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) life has fallen apart in Coronation Street. The character has been convinced for ages that she could steal David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) from Shona and, for a very long time, it looked like her plot was going to work. ‘Jodie idolises Shona so much that she literally wants to step into her shoes, take over her life and know what that feels like’, star Olivia Frances-Brown previously said, discussing Jodie Ramsey’s ‘warped’ mind. ‘By taking over David, the house, the role with Harper – she genuinely wants to know how it feels to be Shona.’ ‘She loves her sister, but she wishes Shona had treated her differently throughout her life. There’s a deep need to get her own back and have some sort of revenge. As much as she cares about their relationship, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get the happiness she feels she deserves.’ To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In today’s episode, Jodie got to work impressing David. Shona was still away after spending the night in a hotel, which gave Jodie the perfect opportunity to swoop in. David admitted to Jodie that he’s been thinking a lot about the kiss they shared a few months ago, and struggled to navigate what that meant for him. This was the green light Jodie had waited so long for. To her, this was confirmation that David wanted to be with Shona’s sister. Because she was too focused on convincing David that they should be together, Jodie failed to spot that he had hidden his phone under a towel for a very specific reason.
