Hailing from writer and director Aaron Sorkin, the film serves as a follow-up to The Social Network (2010), a film that Sorkin wrote and David Fincher directed. The Social Reckoning looks beyond the founding of Facebook, and instead follows an engineer at the company who teams up with a Wall Street Journal reporter to blow the whistle on the social network's darkest secrets. After debuting to a lackluster 55% critics' score upon its release, the audience verdict for The Social Reckoning has now arrived, and the film is sitting at a much stronger 74% Popcornmeter. The audience score was generated from over 250 reviews and could fluctuate as more reviews are added, but the film is currently falling far behind the scores for The Social Network. Fincher's 2010 movie about Mark Zuckerberg's creation of Facebook stands as a modern masterpiece. The film earned glowing reviews and was nominated for eight Oscars, ultimately winning three for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Score. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Social Network has a 96% critics' score and an 87% Popcornmeter. More to come...
