Comedian Carrot Top rushed to hospital after emergency as Las Vegas show is cancelled

The 61-year-old had been due to perform a show on Friday night at the Luxor in Las Vegas, but it was cancelled as a result. In a statement, Mr Thompson’s representative said that he is ‘recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs’. In the statement sent to TMZ, Jami Schlicher said: ‘His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.’ The publication claims to have been informed by sources that the comedian was hospitalised following a suicide attempt. Mr Thompson’s residency at the Luxor is among the longest in history, beginning in 2005. Mr Thompson, pictured in 1998, has had a residency in Las Vegas since 2005 (Picture: Rick Diamond/Getty Images) MGM Resorts International released a statement following his hospitalisation, which reads: ‘Scott is a beloved member of the Luxor and MGM Resorts family, and we are relieved to hear that he is recovering. ‘We are thinking of him and wish him strength as he receives the care and support he needs.’ A spokesperson for the company told 8 News that while the shows on Friday and Saturday night were cancelled, they were unable to provide any further information at this stage.
