CODY GAKPO has reportedly made his choice over his future ahead of the end of the transfer window. The Liverpool star has been widely tipped to leave Anfield this summer, and his exit is closer than ever. It is believed that he had to pick between three choices which were to join City, Tottenham Hotspur or stay at Liverpool. However, after the Reds closed in on the signing of Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola, it left Gakpo wanting a change. It is now believed that, after choosing to join the Cityzens, talks are advancing over the £85m transfer. Man City had considered moving on from Gakpo and pursuing Everton‘s Iliman Ndiaye in the belief the Reds star would go to Spurs. Gakpo featured in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchman picked up an assist as he set up Alexander Isak for their first equaliser of the match. The forward featured in 52 games last term, scoring nine goals and assisting six more. Barcola is due for his medical at Liverpool ahead of sealing his £115m transfer from PSG. Despite the big-money arrival of the Frenchman, the club are still expected to move for ANOTHER winger. The Times have claimed that Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace‘s Ismaila Sarr are among their options.
