Cindy arrested in Hollyoaks after drastic action to erase crimes massively backfires

The walls close in on Cindy(Picture: Lime Pictures) The sight of Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) being taken away by police in Hollyoaks is becoming more and more frequent, with the show legend arrested once again next week. Cindy, who staged a historic return to the village earlier this year, was previously questioned over the death of Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) after she was framed by real killer Martin. But this time her brush with the law relates to the disappearance of Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), who was taken against his will in a shopping centre in August. Ste’s vanishing was orchestrated by Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana), who had a whirlwind romance with Cindy after a chance encounter in LA. The two characters bonded over their shared disdain of Ste, whose actions in the past turned their lives upside down. Cindy was horrified when she learned the true extent of Imran’s plan and urged him to put a stop to it and set Ste free at once but he refused. Determined to do the right thing, Cindy sought help from Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) and later Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and together they worked out Ste’s location, bringing the chef back to the village, where he reunited with his loved ones. In the wake of the shooting, Misbah threatens Cindy, urging her to keep shtum. The doctor then asks husband-to-be Donny to protect Imran. Cindy is tasked with getting rid of evidence (Picture: Lime Pictures) Imran is confirmed to be alive in new spoilers and later in the week he asks Cindy to help him get rid of some evidence on the boat. However, she is caught doing so by Donny and Dodger Savage (Danny Mac). In a bid to cover her and Imran’s tracks, Cindy claims the device contains inappropriate imagery of her and thus chucks it in the river. Cindy is caught tampering with evidence (Picture: Lime Pictures) Dodger responds by arresting her for tampering with evidence while Donny calls for a dive team, determined to locate Imran’s bag. The question is: will he do so? And is Cindy now facing time behind bars even though she was against Ste’s disappearance in the first place?
