EXCLUSIVE: Paramount Television Studios is continuing to beef up its roster of television writers and producers. The studio has struck a first-look deal with Christine Boylan, a writer and exec producer of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Boylan will develop and produce original series for the studio under the pact. It comes days after it signed up Rafe Judkins, creator of Amazon’s The Wheel of Time, to an overall deal as part of a strategy to bolster its genre lineup. Boylan has worked in genre including on Avatar and as co-exec producer of Marvel series such as The Punisher and Cloak and Dagger. She was also a co-exec producer on Peacock’s Poker Face, created by Rian Johnson and starring Natasha Lyonne. Watch on Deadline She joins the likes of Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, Jessical Biel and Michelle Purple’s Iron Ocean Productions, Yellowjackets creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Liz Tigelaar, Issa Rae and Jon M. Chu, who all have deals at the David Ellison-led company. Boylan is repped by WME, Art/Work Entertainment, and Paul Hastings LLP.
