The much-awaited Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Srikanth Odela's film, which was announced as an intense and violent collaboration with Nani as its presenter/producer in 2024, may take longer to materialise. In a recent interview, Nani has now revealed that the project has not progressed as initially planned, partly because of the time taken to complete The Paradise.Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Nani said the Chiranjeevi film was originally expected to be much further along by now. However, the extended production timeline of The Paradise changed those plans, while Chiranjeevi went on to complete other projects.“That will take time because this film [The Paradise] took time. Ideally, Chiranjeevi's film should have almost been in the end by now. But, we took too long. Chiranjeevi sir completed a few more films. So, we don't know. We haven't sat and had that discussion yet,” Nani said. What happened to Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela film? The project was officially announced in December 2024, marking a major collaboration between Chiranjeevi and Srikanth Odela, who made his directorial debut with Nani-starrer Dasara. Nani was announced as the presenter/producer of the film, making the collaboration particularly significant for the actor-filmmaker. The announcement came with an intense poster featuring a bloodied hand. The makers also positioned the film as an unusually violent outing for Chiranjeevi, with the announcement describing it as the megastar’s “most violent film.”The film was expected to bring together Chiranjeevi and Odela in a gritty, hard-hitting action drama, with the director following up Dasara with a project designed around the megastar's screen presence. Nani had previously spoken about why he felt the story was right for Chiranjeevi. He said that when Odela narrated the script to him, he immediately felt that the film would suit the Megastar. Chiranjeevi subsequently heard the story, liked it and agreed to do the film.Nani says The Paradise changed the timelineThe latest update comes after The Paradise became a much longer journey than initially anticipated.
