A full-size humanoid robot capable of reproducing a human operator’s movements in real time will be unveiled by China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO Group) at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing. The Fuxi special-purpose humanoid robot is designed to carry out all-weather reconnaissance, intelligent patrols, and operations in hazardous areas while allowing human operators to control its movements remotely, according to NORINCO, as reported by the Global Times. A specially designed teleoperation system combining remote human control with on-site robotic operations will be integrated into the robot. NORINCO describes the approach as “remote human control and on-site robotic operations.” Revolutionary robot NORINCO’s innovation institute independently developed Fuxi using what the company describes as fully domestically developed technologies. Its development focuses on human-motion sensing, movement transfer between different robotic platforms, and coordinated whole-body control. The robot is also designed to perform sentry duties, including identifying personnel and issuing alerts when abnormal situations are detected. Its other intended applications include reconnaissance, intelligent patrols and substitute operations in hazardous environments. Multiple Fuxi robots can operate together in formation, according to NORINCO. During remote operations, each robot can reproduce the movements of a human operator in real time. The remote-control capability is enabled by a teleoperation system called “external avatar.” NORINCO describes the system as China’s first independently controllable teleoperation solution for full-size humanoid robots weighing around 90 kilograms. According to the company, the system has made breakthroughs in real-time human-motion remapping and teleoperation technologies. It is designed for high-risk and complex environments and can support remote reconnaissance, unmanned operations and specialized response missions. NORINCO said the combination of human operators controlling robots remotely while the machines carry out tasks on site provides a new approach to unmanned operations in special-purpose scenarios. A formation of Fuxi robots will also demonstrate a nighttime urban inspection at the conference. The demonstration will feature multi-robot coordination, including “multi-robot coordinated management, intelligent assessment and closed-loop response,” according to the company in a report by Global Times. Fuxi will be showcased at World Robot Conference The Fuxi is part of a larger NORINCO exhibition at the World Robot Conference and World Robot Expo, which are being held in Beijing from Wednesday through Sunday. The event is expected to feature over 2,000 exhibits from more than 300 exhibitors, including over 150 products making their debut. NORINCO is leading the central state-owned enterprise exhibition area and will present products from 18 affiliated units, with 68 products covering robotics and related intelligent technologies. The exhibition includes intelligent military equipment focused on individual protection, intelligent computing, and situational awareness, as well as a walking-assistance exoskeleton, a wearable ducted-fan aircraft, a two-seat intelligent hybrid aircraft, a power-assisted towing robot, and an intelligent robotic guide dog. The Hangzhou Zhiyuan Research Institute will also showcase equipment including enhanced-vision glasses that combine an augmented-reality see-through display, low-light and infrared thermal imaging, spatial positioning, and multimodal hands-free control. The World Robot Conference is placing greater emphasis this year on real-world applications, according to the Global Times. Organizers said the event will launch a “Global Robot Application Exploration Initiative,” inviting companies to bring mass-produced humanoid robots, quadruped robots and dexterous hands for trials in real-world scenarios.
