Chelsea make Dastan Satpayev decision after suffering hamstring injury during Burnley loan

The 18-year-old forward from Kazakhstan joined Chelsea this summer on a pre-agreed transfer from Kairat Almaty, and was soon shipped off to Burnley in the Championship.Satpayev has impressed in four appearances thus far for the Lancashire outfit, but an injury has seen him sit out their most recent games against Bristol City or Wrexham.His last appearance came in the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough on September 2, but he was taken off after 81 minutes and seen clutching his hamstring.Dastan SatpayevGettyAfter that match, Burnley manager Nicky Hayen said of the forward: “He will be out for a few weeks, unfortunately.“It's one of the signs. Like I said, he had a pre-season but not a proper pre-season. We try to push players, try to protect them, and you just have to find that real good balance.”It is understood that Chelsea, as his parent club, will take the lead on Satpayev’s rehabilitation process, with the youngster being assessed at the club’s Cobham training ground.Chelsea are keen for Satpayev to experience as much first-team football as possible this season, so the Blues’ medical team will work with the teenager to help him recover from his hamstring injury and return to Burnley for the remainder of his loan as early as is feasible.Burnley are happy to comply with Chelsea taking the lead on Satpayev’s rehabilitation.
