Last month I ranked the 8 best airport credit card lounges across the Amex, Chase and Capital One networks. Chase’s Dallas – Fort Worth lounge came in at number four, as the best Chase lounge, and ahead of all American Express lounges. I visited again on Wednesday and I think that ranking holds, although frankly the food was actually better than I remembered. It was downright delicious although I was smart enough not to order the burger, since the grind of meat they use in these lounges just isn’t up to what it was four-plus years ago. The grits were good. The bacon served with it was phenomenal. The pancakes were absolutely out of this world excellent. And the ‘breakfast Cobb salad’ off the buffet was top notch. There’s absolutely no question that this is the best credit card lounge in Dallas – it bests the Capital One and Centurion lounges. It tops Plaza Premium. And before American’s business class Flagship lounge upped its game significantly in the past several weeks I’d say it was clearly ahead of that as well. Now I’m not as sure. Regardless, it was a treasure and when I was in the lounge from about 10:30 a.m. until 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday the space wasn’t crowded. Terminal D doesn’t fill up as much until before evening departures. I’ll usually just use the nearest Admiral’s Club in Dallas but I had enough time that even though I was flying out of the A terminal, arriving at D and changing terminals to reach my flight was worth it for this lounge. I wrote up a much more extensive look at this lounge two months ago as it first opened. I thought just underscoring how delicious the food was would be worth a mention – no need to rehash the whiskey bar or spa elements of the lounge. Topics on this page
