Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation lauded for Guinness drone show, impressive Mysuru Dasara illumination

George has lauded the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) for securing a Guinness World Record with its 3,473-drone peacock formation during Mysuru Dasara 2026. He also commended the spectacular electrical illuminations that added to the grandeur of the 11-day festivities, which concluded on Wednesday (October 21).Witnessing the Jamboo Savari procession and the drone show (during torchlight parade) on Wednesday, Mr. George, who also holds the Tourism portfolio, said the initiatives had enhanced Dasara’s global visibility and strengthened Mysuru’s position as a major tourism destination.The drone show, held over four days at the Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap, featured 12 visual formations in different colours and designs. The peacock formation, created using 3,473 drones, was the highlight, earning CESC another Guinness World Record following its tiger formation record last year.The Minister also praised the special Dasara illuminations, which covered 146 km of roads, 123 circles and prominent locations in the city, besides featuring 80 artistic installations. The colourful displays added to the city’s festive appeal and enhanced its visual splendour.He said the effective management of the city’s electrical illumination during Dasara was a major responsibility. “Given the scale of the festival, which attracts lakhs of tourists, priority was accorded to the reliable management of the power infrastructure, technical preparedness and coordination at various levels. The initiatives undertaken by CESC under the Energy Department have played a significant role in enhancing the grandeur of the Dasara festivities,” the Minister said.Alongside its responsibility of ensuring an uninterrupted power supply, CESC has also demonstrated its capabilities in executing an impressive Dasara illumination and organising an innovative and technology-driven spectacle. “This achievement has been made possible by the coordinated efforts, technical expertise and sustained hard work of its officers and staff. After creating a tiger formation using drones and setting a record last year, CESC has continued its remarkable journey by creating a peacock formation this year and setting a new record. The electrical illumination and drone show have made a significant contribution towards positioning Dasara as a major global tourism attraction,” the Minister added.Mr. George credited the Energy Department and CESC officers, technical personnel and staff for their sustained efforts in delivering the illuminations and drone spectacle. He congratulated MLA and CESC chairman Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, Energy Department Additional Chief Secretary Gaurav Gupta, CESC officials, linemen and other staff members.CESC managing director M.S. Archana said the illuminations and drone show had received widespread public appreciation.
