Each plans to raise an average of $6.4 million more, and sales are projected to grow 81 per cent over the coming year. Exports account for 65 per cent of their total sales, a signal that Canadian foodtech is already holding up in competitive international markets.“Canadians have learned over the last few years what a fragile food supply chain can feel like at the grocery store and many are feeling dismayed. Fortunately, solutions are not theoretical—they’re already being developed by Canadian innovators who are taking action to solve the real problems food businesses face every day,” says Dana McCauley, CEO of CFIN. “The 40 companies on this list are developing technologies that can help food businesses become more productive, competitive and resilient. That matters to every Canadian: when food businesses can produce more efficiently, we strengthen the potential for more affordable food at home and more income from trade abroad. The technology to make that possible is being made here, and it’s already competing with the best in the world.”Winners of the Foodtech Frontier 2026Next-generation Ingredients and FoodREVO Biochem (Calgary, AB)Synergia Biotech (Calgary, AB)Chinova Bioworks (Fredericton, NB)Infusd Nutrition (Halifax, NS)Lite 1 Microbial Colour (Vancouver, BC)Maia Farms (Vancouver, BC)Renaissance BioScience (Vancouver, BC)Sustainable Bioproduct Innovations (New Westminster, BC)Enhanced Medical Nutrition (Toronto, ON)New School Foods (Toronto, ON)Sustento (Mississauga, ON)Food Manufacturing TechnologySmartSkin Technologies (Fredericton, NB)CanDry Technologies (Vancouver, BC)Mode40 (Steinbach, MB)Curry Fresh Canada (ON)UDesign Solutions (Ottawa, ON)DeepSight (Montreal, QC)Relocalize (Montreal, QC)Soralink (Brossard, QC)Tracktile (Charlottetown, PEI)Innodal (Longueuil, QC)Meerv (Trois-Rivières, QC)BioEureka (Montreal, QC)Mabel Systems (Sydney, NS)This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.Food Waste, Circularity, and CleantechJitto (Etobicoke, ON)Local Line (Kitchener, ON)Twish Cart (Alexandria, ON)Learn more about the Foodtech Frontier awards and the winners at www.cfin-rcia.ca/about/foodtechfrontier.The Foodtech Frontier Awards are made possible through the support of the Government of Canada, BDC, MLT Aikins, and RBCx.About the Canadian Food Innovation Network The Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN) is a national organization stimulating transformative and transferable innovation within the Canadian food sector.
