CELEBRITY Traitors may not have kicked off yet, but that hasn’t stopped eager fans from theorizing who will be this year’s treacherous players. The BBC show has already been filmed ahead of its autumn release, with stars such as Maya Jama, Ross Kemp, James Blunt and Richard E. Grant all taking part. The comedian fronts a new BBC advert titled ‘What has the BBC done for me?’, and fans are wondering if the gig comes after a successful time on the broadcasters’ Celebrity Traitors. As one Reddit user said that Romesh hadn’t given much away yet, another replied to point out: “I’m sure he’s done good since he got the gig for that “what has the bbc done for me” advert”. Some are wondering if his big role in the BBC advert could mean Romesh is a big character in Celebrity Traitors, with the ad prefacing his big win. Romesh recently appeared in an advert for the BBC, with some wondering whether it’s because he reigned victorious on their show when filming in the Scottish castle Credit: BBC Celeb Traitors is set to air later this year Credit: PA Whether he does get far or not, it’s still very unknown whether Romesh will be playing as a Traitor or a Faithful. His best pal, Rob Beckett, is also appearing on the show, and many have been trying to figure out whether the pair will be put on opposing teams. As some predicted at least one of them would be a Traitor, another user said: “Iactually think they’ll keep both Rob and Romesh as Faithfuls, knowing most people would assume that one of them must be a traitor because they’re a duo. “They’ll both be so suspicious of the other!” Most read in TV While little is known about the upcoming season of the BBC show, The Sun revealed earlier this year that it’s set to be the most treacherous yet. We’ve been told that a THIRD of the contestants on the BBC One show, presented by Claudia Winkleman, end up as Traitors. A show insider said: “Those working on the programme were quite shocked by the approach adopted by the core Traitors. “They went on a recruiting spree that has never been seen on either the celebrity or the ‘civilian’ version of the show in the UK. “Last year, the original three Traitors secretly selected by Claudia remained as a trio throughout the competition — which turned out to be a winning approach. “But on the follow-up series, all that changes. There’s a thrilling shift in the balance of power. “Even though the whole programme is based on skullduggery, nobody thought it would reach these levels.” In the 2025 series, Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns didn’t recruit any new Traitors to their back-stabbing cause. Although Jonathan and Cat were both booted off the show, it was an approach that ultimately worked because Alan ended up leaving Ardross Castle triumphant. Comment now
