Caleb’s downfall confirmed as vicious Joe closes in on Emmerdale

| Soaps Reporter Published November 4, 2026 9:01am Updated November 4, 2026 9:01am Joe definitely isn’t finished with Caleb (Picture: ITV/Metro) The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated November 4. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube. Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) downfall has been confirmed in Emmerdale, as both Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) get to work on their own plans for him. A few weeks ago, Joe hired Sadie to destroy Caleb and Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly), still believing that they are the reason Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) is dead. Sadie began planting seeds of doubt in Caleb’s mind about Ruby’s alcohol intake and, when she wasn’t busy targeting Caleb, Sadie was manipulating Ruby into thinking that her husband has an issue with her independence. He believed that she was about to spend a drunken night with Ross Barton (Michael Parr), so he decided to sleep with Sadie in retaliation. After her night with Caleb, Sadie met Joe to deliver an update. Interestingly, she actually told Joe that she never slept with Caleb. The reason for Sadie’s weird change of heart was explained in today’s episode, as she confessed to Caleb that she was developing genuine feelings for him. Awks. Prior to this, Caleb had accidentally revealed to Joe that he had sex with Sadie. In a panic about Joe blabbing, Caleb confronted Sadie, but she pointed out that Joe doesn’t have any proof of their betrayal. Still, Joe had the knowledge of Caleb’s secret – and that’s more than enough for him to do some damage. A while later, Joe wandered past Caleb and Ruby with little William in the pram. After going on the longest walk ever (seriously, I swear he just pushed the pram around the entire episode), Joe told his son that Uncle Caleb is evil and gullible, and that fireworks would soon be on their way. Metaphorical and literal, I’m assuming, given tomorrow is Bonfire Night. Meanwhile, Sadie told new housemate Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) that she intends to keep her head down now and get herself out of the gutter. Sadie believed she deserves more than what she has right now, and glanced over at Caleb as she said all of this. If Joe doesn’t get to Caleb first, then Sadie will.
