Calapan City to operate Mimaropa’s first 911 emergency hotline

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Calapan will operate the first 911 Emergency Hotline in the Mimaropa region, bringing a faster, more coordinated response to all types of emergencies across the city. The city government said the new emergency number, which will be officially launched on Friday, Sept. 11, shall serve as a unified, rapid-response channel for residents, guided by the principle that every second matters in times of crisis. Leachon said the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the Philippine National Police, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Public Safety Department will take the lead as the response group. The initiative marks a significant upgrade in public safety and disaster response capabilities for Oriental Mindoro’s capital city.
