CAA Co-Chairman Kevin Huvane Dedicates Project Angel Food Van to His Late Father

Martin “Pop” Huvane will soon be hitting the road on behalf of Project Angel Food. Veteran CAA power agent Kevin Huvane, who serves as co-chairman alongside Bryan Lourd and Richard Lovett, reunited with the organization to deliver what Project Angel Food calls a “transformational” donation by way of the 17th van in its fleet. The gift is notable in that it marks Huvane’s second van donated to Project Angel Food (following one to honor late brother, beloved talent manager Chris Huvane), and the first all-electric van in Project Angel Food’s caravan. The white van with blue lettering, which will be used by the nonprofit to deliver meals to critically ill individuals across Los Angeles County, got unveiled during a special dedication ceremony outside CAA’s headquarters in Century City on Wednesday. In attendance were members of the Huvane family (including power publicist and Apex Public Relations co-founder Stephen Huvane), CAA leadership like Lovett and Michael Mand, and Project Angel Food’s CEO Richard Ayoub and chief development officer LaShanda Maze. They all posed for photos with Huvane getting the honor of cutting the ribbon. “My father, Martin ‘Pop’ Huvane, believed in showing up for people and helping wherever he could. Project Angel Food does that every day, delivering not only meals but also compassion and connection to those facing serious illness. Pop would have been delighted to know that this gift helps bring the organization’s first electric delivery van into service, allowing them to reach even more people in need. Honoring him through an organization that so beautifully reflects his values is incredibly meaningful to our family,” Huvane said in a statement. The patriarch was described as a devoted husband, father of six, grandfather and “proud New Yorker” who worked for the New York Transit Authority and Encyclopedia Britannica. He also once owned and operated a neighborhood deli. He was married to late wife Genevieve for 46 years before her passing. The Martin “Pop” Huvane van will trek across the county and be part of a fleet that delivers more than 1.5 million meals every year, carrying “not only life-saving meals, but hope and love to our often-invisible neighbors,” said Ayoub.
