Bruise Bath – “Non-Consensual Intervention”

Philly post-metal band Bruise Bath released a self-titled album this year (not their first eponymous LP). They're not finished. The group returns today with a burly, bass-forward protest song called "Non-Consensual Intervention." The track begins with a sampled spoken word segment about how maybe the US should be invaded someday so we can know what it's like, then moves on to a gnarly riff-driven churn on the same subject. Eventually the band clears out the lane for some harrowing guttural wails — "How am I supposed to live?!" — before the discordant lo-fi horrors resume. This one does sound like bathing in bruises, now that you mention it.
