Signs announcing that “everything must go” have appeared in the shop windows with shoppers able to purchase discounted outdoor wear up to 20 per cent off ahead of the closure. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! According to a team member from the store who spoke with The Sun, the Blacks branch is set to shutter on February 14. Blacks is known for providing shoppers with a range of clothing, footwear and outdoor equipment from leading brands including The North Face, Berghaus, Merrell and Salomon. The Salisbury store had received very good reviews online by customers, in particular for its “knowledgeable” and “helpful” staff. One customer wrote that they were “really saddened” to see the sale launched in the New Canal branch. Blacks was bought by parent company JD Sports Fashion in 2012 as part of the company’s outdoor arm, including Go Outdoors and Millets. Blacks currently operates 22 stores located around the UK, with a number having been converted into Go Outdoors under the new ownership.
