Julia described her son as a “larger-than-life character” who is “cheeky and full of fun”. She said: “He and his partner Rebecca are so joyful together and we are very close as a family.” Julia and Will’s dad have flown out to Turkey to be by their son’s side. The family said: “The immediate, urgent need, is help with funds for his stay in the ICU. “After that, there is the cost of a flight from Turkey, back home to England. “They do not have the correct insurance to cover all costs, and we expect there will be further costs to help make the home accessible, as well as resources and other accessibility equipment.” They are aiming to raise at least £150,000 to help cover Will’s medical bills, repatriation costs and future needs. Becky’s mum called the accident “life-changing and “heart-breaking” on their fundraising page, writing: “This accident was a split second of tragedy that has now reshaped the entire future of a young man who is only 24 years old.” She said Will had “a long road to recovery”. The fundraiser, which has already raised more than £90,000 concluded: “We are all focusing on being positive, and praying for a recovery that may seem miraculous. “But as the saying goes, ‘Where there’s a Will, there’s a way’.” Comment now
