Brendan Cole says he’s a ‘bitter old pro’ as he slams Strictly lineup just hours after launch show

BRENDAN Cole has said that he’s a “bitter old pro” after moaning about the new Strictly lineup. On Saturday, Strictly Come Dancing made a triumphant return to TV screens up and down the country, with a glittering lineup many adore. When someone in the group hinted that it was hard to know every celebrity in the lineup, Brendan spoke out. Brendan said: “It’s hard to know them if you’re here [in the UK] because I don’t think there are many, many recognisable names on the show. I’m not a massive television watcher,” he confessed. He went on: “I don’t think it’s like it was. I sound like a bitter old pro, I probably am. “But it didn’t seem like it had that real ‘ooh this is going to be exciting’.” Host Kate Garraway then weighed in and said that they might be casting for a “different audience, a younger audience”. Most read in TV James Jordan then said that whatever celebrities appear on the show, “we grow to love them over the weeks”. He added: “The show is such a great format.
