Breaking: Man shot dead in home invasion south of Sydney

A man believed to be in his 20s has been shot dead during a home invasion south of Sydney, police say.Emergency services were called to a Glen Alpine home in the city's south-west at about 3:45am.Police said Campbelltown City Police Area Command officers located a man suffering a gunshot wound inside the house.The man, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.Emergency services were called at about 3:45am on Tuesday. (ABC News)Police said they were told unknown offenders left the scene a short time before they arrived.A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.A report will be prepared for the coroner.
