Secondly: we need to discuss that ending immediately.Because after spending an entire season watching Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau) navigate a new school, family scandal, competitive rowing, and one increasingly complicated love triangle, the finale somehow managed to leave us with even more questions.Most importantly: are we Team Cam or Team Josh now?!The final episode sees Teagan's first season at Easton Prep come to a suitably dramatic end. The crew achieves its goal at the Haverford Cup, Josh makes a major decision about his future, Teagan finally gets some good news about a girls' rowing team and her fugitive father makes a surprise return.Oh, and then there's that kiss.So, let's get into what actually happened—and what it could mean if Crew Girl returns for season 2.Who does Teagan choose in the Crew Girl ending? Well... it's complicated.Teagan spends much of the season caught between Cam (Kyle Clark) and Josh (Sam Braun).She initially gets together with Cam, but their relationship falls apart as he struggles with the pressure of his financial situation and scholarship. Enter Josh, whose relationship with Britney has also ended and suddenly all that tension between him and Teagan has somewhere to go.And go there it does. But by the finale, Josh has much bigger things to deal with.After hiding his heart condition throughout the season—and coming dangerously close to disaster—he finally tells his family the truth and decides he needs to step away and focus on himself.That includes Teagan.Josh tells her he needs to become the person she deserves before they can be together, essentially leaving the door wide open for another attempt at their relationship in the future.Which would be romantic enough... if Cam didn't then turn up.In the final moments of the season, Cam finds Teagan at the boathouse and kisses her. Before they can actually establish what said kiss means, they're interrupted.Naturally.So has Teagan chosen Cam? Technically, no. But considering the season literally leaves us with the two of them kissing while Josh has promised to come back for her, we highly doubt those Team Cam vs. Team Josh debates are going anywhere.NetflixWhat happens to Josh? Josh's storyline takes a much more serious turn toward the end of the season.We discover that he's been hiding a heart condition while continuing to compete, despite experiencing some seriously frightening symptoms.And remember the mysterious sabotage that left the crew with a broken oar? Yep, that was Josh too.He admits he deliberately damaged it because he was terrified of suffering a cardiac event during the race. Eventually, he comes clean about his health and gives up the coveted stroke seat to Cam.It's a pretty major moment considering how fiercely the pair have competed for it all season.Josh ultimately decides to step away from rowing and deal with both his physical and mental health, but not before making it very clear that he doesn't consider his story with Teagan over.Season two love triangle, anyone?NetflixWhat happens with Teagan's dad? Just when Teagan's life appears to be settling down, her fugitive father David makes a surprise return.The now disgraced boutique hotelier arrives with a secret USB that he claims can help financially secure Teagan and her mom Ella's future.Teagan, however, refuses to accept the money and tells him to leave.David sticks around long enough to secretly watch his daughter compete in the final regatta, but he's spotted by the FBI and arrested.He does manage to share an emotional goodbye with Teagan before being taken away in handcuffs, but exactly what's contained on that USB—and whether we've really seen the last of this scandal—remains to be seen.Does Teagan finally get a girls' crew team? She does!After spending the season as coxswain of Easton Prep's boys' team because the school doesn't have a girls' program, Teagan discovers that a donor has stepped in to fund one.Great news, right? Well, there's a catch.Her new teammate is going to be none other than Britney – Josh's ex-girlfriend and someone who hasn't exactly spent season 1 trying to become Teagan's BFF.We see you setting up that season 2 drama, Crew Girl.It also raises a pretty big question over Teagan's future.
