Brand New Day Ignored Venom, But Marvel Studios' Spider-Man Will Officially Have A Symbiote Arc

She was a regular guest on the Netfreaks podcast and was a YouTuber at some point. Guillermo del Toro said “hi” to her once. Despite a part of the symbiote already living in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man: Brand New Day completely ignored Venom, but another Marvel Studios production is officially bringing Spider-Man and Venom together. The MCU shows no signs of stopping anytime soon, and despite the Multiverse Saga not having the same success as the Infinity Saga, it has delivered some good movies that will be key to the upcoming chaos in Avengers: Doomsday. One of the Multiverse Saga’s most anticipated and exciting projects was Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the long-awaited sequel to No Way Home. Set four years after the spell that made everyone forget Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Brand New Day reunites the audience with Spider-Man as he faces a mysterious and powerful threat. On top of that, Peter is still dealing with grief, loneliness, and all the complex emotions caused by the spell that left him completely alone. Now, at the end of No Way Home, it was revealed that when Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom left the MCU and were sent back to their timeline, a piece of the symbiote was left behind in the MCU. This, along with specific parts of the Brand New Day trailers, made the audience believe Holland’s Peter would finally meet the symbiote, but this never happened – however, another version of Peter Parker will come across Venom thanks to Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 Is Introducing Venom Via MovieStillsDB Within the MCU but not as part of the Tom Holland continuity is Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, an animated TV show created by Jeff Trammell. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set in an alternate timeline and explores Peter Parker’s (voiced by Hudson Thames) origin story and his early days fighting crime as Spider-Man. In this timeline, Peter’s powers come from being bitten by a spider that came through a portal caused by Doctor Strange fighting a symbiote. Other key changes in this timeline are that Peter’s mentor isn’t Tony Stark, but rather none other than Norman Osborn (who will still become Green Goblin), while Harry Osborn is an influencer and befriends Peter. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man premiered on Disney+ in 2025 and was a success with critics and general audiences, who have praised its animation, tone, and stories. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is coming back with a second season in 2027, and it’s confirmed to see Peter meet Venom. At 2026’s D3 event, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 was revealed to arrive in January 2027, and attendees were treated to a sneak peek. In it, Spider-Man was shown going up against villains like Lizard and Rhino, Gwen Stacy’s debut, more crime-fighting alongside Daredevil, and Spider-Man bonding with Venom. Venom and Spider-Man meeting and bonding is one of the most anticipated moments in the MCU, and while Holland’s version hasn’t done it yet, despite having all the necessary elements ready, at least Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is making it happen in a different timeline. Will Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Ever Come Across The Symbiote? Spider-Man: Brand New Day leaves many questions about Peter Parker’s future, both in his personal life and in his superhero one, and one of them is about his potential encounter with Venom. As mentioned above, a piece of Venom is now in the MCU, but it hasn’t been seen again since No Way Home, nor has it been mentioned. With Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy now over, and massive events like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars coming up, it will be very hard to believe that Peter and the symbiote won’t ever meet, or that the symbiote hasn’t bonded with any MCU character. The MCU’s Spider-Man and Venom will have to meet at some point, but exactly when that will happen is hard to say, and there’s the possibility that it won’t be Holland’s version anymore, especially after Secret Wars.
