During the chat, host Craig Doyle, 55, then asked: “We don’t have Danny on the sofa today, Hendrik. How is he?” The boyband star replied: “Yeah, he’s doing good. He’s just taking some time out at the moment for his mental health, but we’ll be glad to have him back when he’s ready to join us.” A sympathetic Craig then said: “It’s hard being thrust into the spotlight.” A source close to the band told The Sun recently: “Danny is taking his mental health and wellbeing seriously, which is why he’s taking a break at this time. Most read in TV “One thing we’ve always spoken about as a band is the importance of looking after your mental health and getting support when you need it. “Right now, that’s what Danny is focusing on. He’s our friend and we care about him, so we’re supporting him and giving him the space and privacy he needs.” It came after allegations of inappropriate comments had been circulating on social media. Danny shared a statement on TikTok to address the speculation, after fans had noticed he was missing from promo pictures. He said: “Looking back at some of my actions, I understand why this has caused upset – and hurt and for that, I am truly sorry. “I didn’t think enough about how my behaviour might affect other people.” Help for mental health If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support.
