The Ring Magazine account on X posted a picture of Benn’s trimmed figure, writing: “Conor Benn is in serious shape ahead of his WBC welterweight title shot against Ryan Garcia.” But one wrote: “This is not looking good and the KO will be devastating.” Another said: “He looks washed out and has probably lost a LOT of his strength stripping down to that weight.” A third added: “He’s heading for a KO defeat.” And a fourth said: “He looks drained Garcia will knock him out.” Meanwhile, one commented: “Damn he’s gone skinny, is he gonna have the power? He revealed this would be his final fight at 147 but he hasn’t fought at the limit since beating Chris van Heerden in April 2022. Benn admitted recently it was “challenging” to cut back down to his old weight. He said: “Yeah, it’s hard. It’s brutal. This is my last fight at 147. When I win the world title, I’ll move on. “But for me, I haven’t made 147 for four years. So, it’s challenging. “It’s really hard. You think I went up to 183 [on fight night] for the Eubank fights, you know, so it’s hard, but we’re getting it done.” Benn is in a new chapter of his career after leaving Eddie Hearn‘s Matchroom for Dana White‘s Zuffa Boxing.
